JULIE HELLER GALLERIES
M.J. LEVY DICKSON and PAUL OBERST
July 22 - August 4, 2016
Levy Dickson finds a global common denominator in the exquisite fragility of our world and expresses her passionate empathy with it through her art. The delicate intricacies of seaweed and shell, of fruit, land and tree all find their noble essence in her masterful watercolors. Also included in the show are some delightfully minimalist collage work.
Over the past 2 years, Paul Oberst has created a series of photographic panels - called Illuminations that describe his very personal interpretation of this mysterious world and of the soul that travels through it. The majority of these amber glazed and waxed panels are of banded male and female nude ceremonial attendants here to guide the wandering traveler through these mysteries of life. The images range from small studies to life sized assemblages.
