DAVID EDDY and ELIZABETH LAZEREN
July 8 - 21, 2016
Eddy paints wild and wonderful work - as haunting as it is imaginative. Largely self-taught, he pours a palpable raw energy into his painting - often chasing after images that reveal themselves during the creative process. Delightfully unique faces peer out at the viewer and areas of dazzling color show through his scrapings and burst into life across the picture plane.
Lazeren has been drawing and painting since she was 8 years old. She works from memory, experience and imaginationand creates lovely atmospheric compositions full of oblique angles, tonal color and transparent layers suggesting a sense of place and a clarity of mood. The juxtaposition of these two very different styles and subject matter provides a visual feast not to be missed.
